Frequently Asked Questions

Colibri is an eye tracking device?

No. Colibri moves the mouse pointer through head movements. However, Colibri can capture eye blinks and other small facial movements to make clicks.

I have little head movement, can I use Colibri?

Colibri is capable of adapting to very subtle head movements, as long as the person has good control over these movements.

In case of doubt, our customer support team can remotely evaluate the person to better determine the chance of adaptation.

However, even in the complete absence of head movements, Colibri can be used as a click trigger. In this configuration, the device can be positioned to perform the equivalent of a mouse click when it detects slight movements of the cheeks, lips, eyelids (blinks), and eyebrows, or even small movements of the hand or fingers.

How do I click using Colibri?

There are two ways to click: by dwell or by facial gesture.

The dwell click happens automatically whenever the cursor remains over a target for a small interval (dwelling time). This is the simplest way to click and most appropriate for those who are using Colibri for the first time.

On the other hand, the facial gesture click happens when the person makes small facial movements, such as a smile or blink of the eyes, which are detected by Colibri. This mode allows for faster clicking and also allows for activities that require dragging the pointer while the click is held.

You choose the click method using the My Colibri application.

I have difficulty blinking my eyes, can I use Colibri?

Yes. In this case, the mouse click can be made automatically whenever the cursor remains stationary over a target for a short interval.

If in doubt, our customer service team can remotely evaluate the person to better determine the chance of adaptation.

I have involuntary head movements, can I use Colibri?

Colibri is capable of filtering out some types of involuntary head movements, as long as the person has a reasonable range of vertical and horizontal head movements.

However, even with very involuntary head movements, Colibri can be configured to adapt to other forms of movement, including from different parts of the body.

In case of doubt, our customer service team can evaluate the person remotely to better determine the chance of adaptation.

Do I have to install any programs or applications to use Colibri?

Colibri works on any smartphone, tablet or computer with Bluetooth connectivity, without the need to install anything.

However, if it is necessary to customize the settings of Colibri, you just need to use the My Colibri app.

If I don't wear glasses, how can I use Colibri?

Those who do not wear glasses can use the frame without lenses that comes with the Colibri or any other frame of their preference.

But, if you already wear prescription glasses, you can simply mount the Colibri directly onto your own glasses frame.

For those who do not wear glasses, they can use the frame without lenses that comes with Colibri or any other frame without prescription.

Do I need to be literate to use Colibri?

No. Colibri performs the same functions as a conventional mouse, but through head movements.
